Voting Escort Requests
Feeling unsafe to drive to your polling site alone? Request a free confidential voting escort. A member of IRI will accompany you to vote and then back to your residence. If you would like us to accompany you to building, we can walk with you to entrance/lobby/waiting area, wait for you to vote, and walk you back outside. Voting is YOUR right. We won't let anyone be intimidated. WE KEEP US SAFE.
TO REQUEST A RIDE:
- Text RIDE to 463-252-RIDE
- We'll text you back asking for:
- Your first name
- Your pickup address
- The date you'd like to vote
- Your preferred pickup time
- A second time that could also work
- How many people need a ride
- Whether you need a one-way or round-trip ride
- Any accessibility, mobility, language, or child/car-seat needs
3. We'll match you with an IRI volunteer.
All rides are pre-scheduled and based on volunteer availability. Sending a request does not automatically reserve a ride.
4. We'll text you when your ride is confirmed.
You'll receive your confirmed date and pickup time. Your volunteer will contact you before pickup.
5. Your volunteer will pick you up, accompany you to vote, and bring you home.
